The Suisen Shuzo Sake Brewery was tragically hit during the 2011 earthquake & tsunami, taking the lives of seven brewers and leaving the brewery completely destroyed.

“Kibo,” which means “hope” in Japanese, is a culmination of the perseverance of the brewers who were able to rebuild and continue sake production the year following the disaster.

This craft Junmai is made in the regional Iwate style, using local Kitakami rice and pure mountain water that provides a delicious softness with notes of almond & white lily.
