Collection: Omachi

Our collection of sake made from Omachi rice.
The only variety that has been cultivated continuously for over 100 years without any selective breeding, Omachi is also known as the mother of sake rice.
Okayama Prefecture produces the most, and Akaiwa Omachi is the most famous.
The rice stalks are tall and difficult to cultivate, but it has been revived in recent years, and there are even Omachi fans called "Omachiists.
The rice is soft and dissolves easily, so it is said to produce a rich, mellow flavor.
