Collection: Gohyakumangoku

Our collection of sake made from Gohyakumangoku rice.
This variety was born in Niigata Prefecture, and is still driving the ”Tanrei Karakuchi" (light, clean, refreshing, and dry) boom in Japan that began in Niigata in the 1980s.
Gohyakumangoku rice is hard and does not dissolve easily, resulting in that "Tanrei Karakuchi" taste.
The rice grains are small, and the core is large compared to the size of the grains,
so it is said to be difficult to polish the rice more than 50%.
