There are many similarities between the manufacturing methods of shochu and whiskey. In fact, since barley shochu is made from the same ingredients, some items have a whiskey-like aroma. In particular, shochu that has been aged in barrels and has the same alcohol content as whiskey is of a quality that is enough to impress many whiskey fans. "Beyond Whisky" was created by combining the traditions of shochu making with the ideas of whiskey making, in order to satisfy both shochu fans and whiskey fans (and sometimes bourbon and brandy fans too)!
